Sukwinder and his family came to Canada over 50 years ago. He was a true, patriotic Canadian. He spent his life giving back to the community that he loved so dearly. He was a lifelong Educator and Martial Artist. He ran his Academy "Coastal Martial Arts" for 42 years, inspiring thousands of young athletes. He spent his career working for SD70, working with youth at risk, and in recent years in the Career Education centre at ADSS. He was a constant source of support and encouragement to the people around him.
Survived by his loving family- His Daughter Julia (Sam), his Brothers Dave and Paul (Sharon), his Nephew Ravi, and his puppy Dodger. As well as his beloved colleagues, friends, and Coastal Martial Arts family.
A memorial tournament "Celebrating a Legacy" will take place in his honour on Saturday, June 6th. Competition begins at 10am, with a casual memorial to follow later in the afternoon. Open to the public.
