BROWN, Susan Mary, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer with her family by her side. Born in Port Alberni on February 13, 1952.

Predeceased by her parents Ralph and Betty Hepler and sister Barb She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years Clayton Brown, son Jim Brown and his children Ashley and Clayton (Shivani Banotra); daughter Trish (Edwin) Meader and their children Brayden, Logan and Madison; as well as nieces and loving friends.

Susan had a love of animals. There wasn’t a dog she didn’t love. She always made sure anyone who popped in left full and satisfied. Susan was a spiritual soul. She took great comfort in her devotion and belief in God. She was a kind and caring person and always the first to lend a helping hand. Susan took great pride in her volunteer work and was involved with the MS Society for many years.

The family would like to thank Dr. Damian White, Marnie McGregor and the rest of the Palliative Care Team for all they did to help Mom. You all truly went above and beyond.

A special thank you to Melinda Brown for all your help, support and comfort.

It has been said that we remember those and how they made us feel. Susan had the gift of leaving everyone feeling good about themselves because of her beautiful smile that easily reached her eyes. She was such a genuine person who had the ability to not only listen to your conversation, but left you knowing you were heard and appreciated. Repeatedly it has been said how kind she was. Kindness was her genuine personification.
Words cannot describe how much she meant to anyone who had the good grace to know her, and to those who have loved her.

Charles and family,
I am so shocked and saddened to learn of Susan’s passing and am so sorry for your loss. This is such heartbreaking news. In our school years, Susan, Leah and I shared many happy times together. She was so much fun to be around and really loved life. She grew into a caring and compassionate woman, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In spite of living with MS she remained positive and reached out to others. I’m so thankful to have reconnected with her in later years and will always love and miss her. She truly was a beautiful soul. Barb

I am saddened to hear of Susan's passing and my condolences to the family. I remember being out with friends which included Clayton's brother and dropping in to visit them. We were warmly welcomed and Susan made a delicious breakfast dish for us to enjoy. A very sweet, kind lady and I know she will be very much missed.

I am devastated by this news. I was Susan's hairdresser for many years, starting first in 1989. We had many, many wonderful visits during those times. I especially felt close to Susan after my MS diagnosis, when she often gave me valuable advice; & many a time asked me to phone her if I had any questions or just needed to talk. I had no idea she was sick, only that a few weeks ago had to cancel her haircut due to a sore back. My eyes are filled with tears as I write this, & I will miss her terribly. She was so kind & generous & thoughtful to me, & I will never forget anything she did for me. Even giving me her bottle of Mexican vanilla, because she knew I couldn't get it anymore. Condolences to the family, & to Trish.... who I knew back in the 90s. ⚘❤⚘

I have known Susie for many years, she was truly a caring soul. We were a bit mischievous in our late teens, sharing much fun and late night laughter together. Although we didn’t keep in touch, as much as I would of liked as we got older, Susie will always hold a special place in my heart. My deep, heartfelt condolences to Charlie and the extended family, Susie will be missed by so many. Linda
