TAMMY ANN VEITO August 8 1958 - May 11, 2022

It is with much sadness, that we say good-bye to our beloved Tammy: a wife, mother, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend.

Predeceased by her parents, Harriet and Larry Veito. Tammy is survived by her husband, Soren Hanson, her son, Tyler Hanson and her sister Debbie Compton (Neil).

Tammy moved to Port Alberni with her family from Marathon, Ontario in 1966 at the tender age of 8. She worked as a car-hop at the J & L where she met Soren... she also waitressed at Mr. Mike's while finishing high school. Tammy then got her hairdressing certificate before taking on the role of the commercial fisherwoman on Soren's boat, the "Tammy Ann #1". In 1988, when their son Tyler was born, Tam retired to take on the full-time role of Mom and homemaker.

Tammy was an 'old soul'... she loved the past like old movies and antique furniture... their home was filled with collectibles and numerous framed black and white pictures of family members, friends and old movie stars, stuffed bears, and recently, elephants. The house was adorned with plants and flowers. She loved animals and their household always included pets. Over the past few years, she once again turned back to art and many received pieces of her amazing works in the form of a greeting card ... an occasion was never missed. Late to life, Tammy took up the 'tech life' in the form of what she called her "Funk & Wagnall" (tablet) .... her near and far friends and family shared and chuckled in her prolific posts and emojis.

Most of all, Tammy loved spending time and talking with her family and friends. She had a tremendous heart and spirit that she willingly shared with all... always there for someone in need. She will be dearly missed.

An upcoming Celebration of Life will be held in the family home and the date is to be determined.
