April 19, 1949 – January 10, 2014
On the evening of Friday, January 10, 2014, after many battles and struggles Vicki was granted the gift of passing peacefully from this journey to the next with her loving and devoted husband Norman by her side. Greeting her was her son Kenny, as well as many other loved ones who are dearly missed.
Those here to miss and celebrate her are her husband of 48 years Norman, her children: daughter Tammy Hoban, son-in-law Zach, granddaughter Olyvia, daughter Kim Moore and Paul and grandchildren Heaven, Ayla, Ambrealle and River, son James Moore and Tracy, grandchildren Lexi Moore and Brody, 10 brothers and sisters and their families and special family members Norm Taylor, Poppy Ed Martin, Mike Patterson as well as many family members, dear friends and extended family.
As we take our own time to remember and celebrate her life we can remember all the big family and friends dinners she would host for any occasion. We can remember her creativity for crafts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking and cooking. Nothing gave her greater joy than creating gifts for those she loved.
Vicki will be remembered by the community for her outgoing and friendly personality while working as a product demonstrator at Safeway and at Big Pig’s Baked Subs restaurant which she co-owned.
A formal celebration of Vicki’s life will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, but can be replaced by a simple random act of kindness to someone who could use a smile. Donations in Vicki’s honour can be made to the Alberni Hospice Society, 2649 2nd Avenue, Port Alberni, V9Y 1Z8 or MIKA , c/o 6106 Drinkwater Rd., Port Alberni, V9Y 8W6.
Thank you to the many kind people who have assisted Vicki over the last few years. Your kindness was very appreciated by Vicki and her family.
We miss you so much already but find peace and comfort in your peace and comfort. We love you.
