Therese Terry Victorine Cameron

September 30, 1930 - May 18, 2011

Therese, "Terry" Cameron passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, with her family at her side to be with the Lord after a very brave and long battle with cancer.

Terry was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on September 30, 1930, to Achille and Marie Neirinck. She moved to Victoria, BC when she was nine years old and attended schools there. In 1951, Terry graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Victoria as a registered nurse. After completing her residency in Philadelphia, Terry returned to Victoria and married H. john Cameron in November of 1954.

Soon after their marriage, terry moved to Port Angeles and went to work at Olympic Memorial Hospital, where she worked as surgical nurse for over 40 years. Terry was the Director of Surgery for many years.

Terry was a member of the Washington State Nurses Assn., the BC Nurses Assn., and the American Operating Room Nurses Assn. She was also a long time member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie #483. She was a member of Queen of Angels Church for many devoted years. Terry loved to help out where she was needed in volunteering for various events through the years. She enjoyed so many things in life, but family, friends, gardening, and camping were her true joys during her life.

Terry is survived by her son and daugter-in-law, Ron and Janet Cameron; grandsons Ryan, Ross, and Ron; and great-granddaughter Kianah. She is also survived by nephew Raymond Papick and his wife Maria from Victoria, BC, as well as close friend, Virginia Tangedahl, who remained with Terry throughout their personal and professional lives to the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joe and Gilbert Neirinck; and sister Julia Papick.

A mass will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 209 W. 11th St., in Port Angeles, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00am.
