Bruce M. Foss, 53, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away June 14, 2008 at his home. He was born April 29, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York to William and Dorothy Foss. He served in the US Navy on the USS Trenton LPD and was honorably discharged December 1975. Mr. Foss was a New York City Firefighter, Engine 216 and Ladder 108 from July 11, 1981 till he retired Sept 30, 2001. He was a 9-11 Rescue Worker. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to Punta Gorda from Long Island, NY in October of that year. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Foss; son, Herbert Foss, both of Punta Gorda, FL; daughter, Samantha Foss of North Port, FL; brothers, Billy, Scott and Randy Foss; sisters, Linda Sweeney, Dorothy Burge and Debbie Michaels.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday June 19, 2008 at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Assoc, 2001 Shreve Street, Punta Gorda. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hosp, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
