

Charles "Chuck" Henry Hemstreet Ill of the Cypress Falls community in North Port, FL, passed away November 29, 2024, at the age of 85, following a year-long illness. Chuck was born in Boston, Mass. to Charles H. Hemstreet Jr. and Hildred Hemstreet.
Chuck graduated from high school in Boston, MA before enlisting in the Navy, where he served six years in active duty and reserves as an Aviation Technician-Radar 3, primarily stationed at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA. Later, he attended Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, studying procurement and advanced mathematics.
He spent over fifty years in northern Colorado, where he married his wife Beverly. Together, they shared an adventurous 54 years, eventually moving to Cypress Falls a decade ago. They have been blessed to share three children.
Chuck had a remarkable career, excelling as a natural entrepreneur. Among his many ventures, he and Beverly founded and operated The Silver Naja, an American Indian Arts & Crafts store in Greeley, CO. He also owned and operated a light plane rental and training facility, worked as a computer repair technician for Smith-Corona, served as an electronics purchasing agent for Hewlett Packard, and worked as a professional photographer and videographer, producing promotional videos for businesses and events. One of Chuck's proudest achievements was owning and running the H Bar H, a horse and cattle ranch in Colorado, which he described as the most challenging and rewarding endeavor of his life.
In Cypress Falls, Chuck found his happy place, embracing the community and its activities. He generously shared his electronics expertise, frequently helping with audio and video needs. He was a beloved DJ, Master of Ceremonies, and the heart of events like Bingo and Music Bingo, earning the affectionate nickname "Mr. Bingo." Just put a microphone in his hand and he was a happy man.
Chuck was also a passionate amateur radio operator, obtaining his General Amateur Radio License with the callsign W3CHH. He contributed to the amateur radio community by acting as net control for scheduled radio communications and played a crucial role in emergency communications during Hurricane Ian, furthering the reach and impact of amateur radio in times of need. He was a member of the Charlotte Amateur Radio Society.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bradley Hemstreet, sister Marilyn Hemstreet, a baby sister, and his first wife of eleven years, Deborah Baker. He is survived by his devoted wife Beverly; son Charles (Carine) H. Hemstreet IV of Washington; daughter Carolyn (Alexander) Pyle of Colorado; daughter Dawn (Lanny) Creason of Pennsylvania; brother William (Denise) Hemstreet of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Karen Hemstreet of Ohio; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
There will be a Celebration of Life held in the Cypress Falls community social hall, followed by a Committal Ceremony at Sarasota National Cemetery on January 23rd, 2025 at 1PM.
