

Christine Elaine (Hunt) Miller, of Port Charlotte, Florida, went to heaven on the wings of the angels on February 24, 2017. She was born on October 16th, 1952, in Miami, Florida, the first daughter of John William and Amelia Murrell (Schuessler) Hunt. She graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School in 1970. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Georgia College in Middleville, GA. She began her teaching career in Savannah, GA where she taught elementary education for eight years.
Christine joined the Charlotte County Public School System in Florida where she taught elementary education for 25 years. She helped design and teach the gifted-educational program. As a third generation teacher Christine had an unlimited passion for teaching. She was dedicated to all of her students and their quest for knowledge. She spent many additional hours tutoring her students and providing educational supplies, often at her own expense.
Thomas (Tom) and Christine were married on December 28th 1986 at the St. Bernard de Clairvaux Church, site of the Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach, FL. Tom and Christine were married thirty years.
Christine is survived by her loving and devoted husband Thomas L. Miller, her sisters Carol L. Hunt and Janice A. Hunt and her sister-in-law Frances Donato. She is also survived by an extended Miller family, with many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and various cousins. Christine was blessed with many dear friends, some cherished friendships lasting over fifty years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11am at St. James Episcopal Church, 1365 Viscaya Drive, Port Charlotte, FL.
