Dorothy R. Mills

She was born on March 6, 1927 in Newark, New Jersey and came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Union, Michigan. Dorothy retired from Miles Laboratories in Elkhart, Indiana, after many years of service. She was a member of the Murdock Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. Dorothy was past Worthy Matron of the Vandalia Eastern Star Lodge # 235, State Secretary of MUCC, Treasurer of Porter Township and former owner of Mills Trailer Park.

Survivors include her daughter, Pat John Berkey of Port Charlotte, Florida, her brother, Martin Fox of Pennsylvania and her sister, Vivian Kinney of Port Charlotte, Florida; her 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her former husband's Darcy Tuffy Keller and Sam Mills, also her daughter, Jean Jousma and her great grandson, John Ulrich Berkey.

Visitation Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Kays Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida.

Funeral services Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Murdock Baptist Church, Interment will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
