She was born July 8, 1928 in McEwen, Tennessee to Jack and Bessie Lovette
Edith was a graduate of the University of Tennessee - School of Nursing. Nursing was her passion and she worked many years at what used to be called the Medical Center in Punta Gorda and St Joseph's Hospital before retiring at the age of 75. She enjoyed many hobbies including, fishing, playing bridge and gardening.
She is survived by her son, Charles Kemp, Jr of Florida, daughter Deborah Kemp Scott of California, grandchildren Steve Scott and Shaunna Webster Scott, both of California and five grandchildren as well as an abundance of wonderful nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren.
She will be buried with her husband, Col. Charles E Kemp, at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by Kays-Ponger Funeral Home. Per Edith's request, there will be no memorial service.
