

He was born March 6th 1929 in a New York City hospital and moved to Garden City Park, Long Island. Ed attended the Long Island Garden City Park Grammar School for 9 years and 4 years at Sewanahaka High in Floral Park Long Island from 1942 - 1946. He worked many jobs during school from paper boy, soda jerk to plumber’s apprentice.
Ed joined the Army in Sept 1948 and spent 2 years in the German occupation service in Karlsrue Germany going to electronic schools. His last year was spent in Fort Campbell, KY as a MP during the Korean War. Ed returned home in 1951 to work at Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, LI for 10 years.
After leaving Grumman, Ed built and operated his own electronic sales & serve store in Oakdale LI and opened two others, one in Hicksville and Hampton Bays, LI. Ed moved to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1980 and opened another electronic store which he ran for 10 years. In retirement, Ed enjoyed playing golf and building and flying model airplanes.
Ed is survived by his wife of 52 years, Theresa Rabell and their children, Christine and Francine; and his 4 children from his first marriage, Janet, Carol, Patricia, and Paul; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his children, Eddie and Lynn.
Visitation for Ed will take place on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 11-12pm, with a funeral service to begin at 12 pm at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home; 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
