First I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Frank's wonderful wife Diane who I know he loved & adored very much... I would also like to express my deepest sympathy to Frank's daughters, Carrie & her husband tom & Lisa & her husband Doug his sons, Frankie & Mathew, and to Frank's 6 grandchildren, Nick, Jami, Charlotte, Lily, Connor & Carly and to Frank's brother Tim.
You know, when Diane asked me to give Franks eulogy a picture flashed in my head... a picture of Frank laughing his head off at the idea of his Jewish, liberal gun toting, democratic friend as he jokingly called me...giving his eulogy. Don't miss understand, for the past 10 years Frank and I were not only neighbors, but we were friends. In fact Frank & Diane were the first people we met when we moved to BSI.
Through the years we got to know each other pretty well and the one thing that was certain right from the beginning was, that he and I would always agree to disagree. I also discovered that Frank was not the kind of guy to seat on the sidelines and just be a spectator... Frank moved to a waterfront community and he was going to enjoy the heck out of it. And he made sure that everyone around him was going to enjoy it as well.
As everyone knows boating was Frank's passion; I know that because during the time I knew him he owned 5 different boats starting with Lovie One and each of the boats thereafter was named Lovie, because that's what Frank affectionately called his wife and partner Diane.
You know...at first Frank just enjoyed going out to Charlotte harbor to do some fishing.... Frank also enjoyed getting his friends together to take their boats out and raft up with him in the harbor to watch the sunsets and on the nights there was a full moon he got everyone to stay out for that too. As a matter of fact he named us the Full Moon Club and made up burgees to display on our boats. Frank was the kind of guy that if he was heading out to the harbor and he saw you standing in your lanai or on your dock he would pull up and introduce himself and see if you wanted to join him for the trip.
As his passion grew so did the size of the boats... No longer was he satisfied just hanging out in the harbor or taking a run to the Green Flash or Cabbage Key. Now he wanted to spend days, if not weeks or months on his boat traveling up to St Pete or Venice or like he & Diane did on their last trip, crossover Lake Okeechobee to the east coast for two months.
Yes Frank is my friend and my neighbor and through all the years I've know him he was always there for me, as he was for all his friends. He was always ready to lend a hand, always ready to have a good time, always ready to go boating.
Remember
Life isn't about how you survived the storm...
It's about how you danced in the rain!
We'll miss you Frank and God Bless you my Friend.
