He was born on August 16, 1939 in Hazard, Kentucky and came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Brownstown, Michigan 12 years ago. Mr. Woods, was an Iron worker retiring from Local # 25, International Building Trades after 32 years of service. He was a wonderful husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Molly Woods and son, Matthew.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia M. Woods of Port Charlotte, Florida; 4 daughters, Donna Woods of Michigan, Patricia Woods of Taylor, Michigan, Michelle Woods of Port Charlotte, Florida and Lisa Woods of Tampa, Florida;2 sons, Anthony Woods of Westland, Michigan and Kevin Bakay of Port Charlotte, Florida.
2 sisters, Marie Bailey of Lamont, Florida and Paula Lawson of Royal Oak, Michigan.13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation Friday, December 19, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, Florida. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
