

Helen was born to Jessi and John Bauman in Bronx, New York. She was raised by Mary and Charles Vogel along with sisters Tilly, May, Gertrude and Viola, whom predeceased her.
She met and married the love of her life William B. Gorman and followed him to Texas when he was transferred with the Army and started their family with a daughter. After moving back to the Bronx, the family grew as they welcomed a son. After a few years, they moved to Long Island and built their dream home in Mineola, and welcomed another daughter to the family.
As the family grew up Helen went to work part time for the Nassau County school system, and then full time for Franklin National Bank/ EAB in a clerical position. Along the way she met many friends along with neighbors that hosted parties and traveled all over the USA as couples. She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed travel, cooking, crosswords, knitting , sewing and Bingo.
Helen was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Helene Petrillo (Joseph) of Dix Hills and also by her loving husband of 69 years, William B Gorman Sr.
She was a loving mother to William B. Gorman Jr. (Penny) of Lady Lakes, Fl, and Diane Gorman-Gonzalez (Dick) of Punta Gorda, Fl. Grandmother to Scott Petrillo (Marla) of Babylon N.Y, Jennifer DeMasi (Dan), Central Islip, N.Y. and Bryan Gorman (Pamela) of Bayonne N.J. Great grandmother to James Page Petrillo "Jimmy" of Babylon N.Y.
All of whom will miss her greatly, and will always cherish all their precious memories.
A visitation will be held at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL on Saturday Feb. 10, 2018 from 4pm to 5pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow with Pastor David Stewart officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., The American Cancer Society or any local animal shelter.
