Howard L. Grim, 93, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away August 31, 2011 at his residence, the Sterling House of Punta Gorda. He was born June 25, 1918 in Samantha, OH to Austa and Frank Grim. Howard served in WW II and the Korean War and continued his service in the reserves at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio retiring with the rank of Lt. Col. He and his wife, Polly, retired to Punta Gorda in 1975. He was a charter member of the PGI Yacht Club and an avid sailboat racer.
He is survived by his loving children Jon (Mark) Grim, Debbie (Michael) Warren, cherished grandchildren, Larissa Koerschner and Sasha Hasselbring, great grandchildren Landon and Macie. He was pre deceased by his beloved wife Pauline Grim in 2008.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm, Friday September 2, 2011 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday September 3, 2011 at the Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.
