He was born on January 30, 1919 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Put-in-Bay, Ohio, 40 years ago. Mr. Schmelzl was a self employed photographer, a U.S. Army veteran of WW- II and the Korean War and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd located in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Survivors include his wife Ernestine of 67 years of Port Charlotte Florida also 33 nieces and nephews and many Godchildren.
Memorial services Saturday, January13, 2007 10:30 A.M. at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 West Henry Street, Punta Gorda, Florida.
