He moved to the area in 1987 from Birmingham, Alabama. He was a graduate of Venice High School and a member of the Son of AmVets Post #2000 of North Port. James loved spending his spare time on the water and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra McLellan of North Port, Florida; his brother, Justin Abercrombie of Lake City, Florida; maternal grandmother, Lorene Lange of Birmingham, Alabama; his aunt, Fredricka (William) Snipes of Birmingham; his uncle, Robert (Charlotte) Lange of Cullman, Alabama. He was predeceased by his father, James C. Abercrombie, Jr., his grandmother, Rubye Abercrombie and his uncle, Andrew Abercrombie.
No funeral services are planned at this time. Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
