He was born in Senath, Missouri to Milton and Mazie Ballinger.
Jerry retired from the Department of Energy before moving to Florida.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Donnie Hooker of Leachville, Arkansas, he is survived by his wife of 18 years, Annette Ballinger, daughter Terri Ballinger Dennehy and husband Daniel of Sarasota; son Scott Ballinger of Jonesboro, Arkansas; step son Michael Grundon of North Port; grandson, Dylan Dennehy of Sarasota, granddaughter Cristinah Grundon of Spring, Texas and a special nephew Heath Hooker of Arkansas.
