He served in the U. S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. Jack was a Fire Fighter with the Detroit, Michigan Fire Department for 29 years and retired as a Lieutenant.
He was a member of St. Raphael Church, V.F.W. Post 10178, American Legion Post 113, all of Englewood; Fraternal Order of Eagles in Spruce Michigan and Retired Detroit Police and Fire Fighters Association.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Ruth of 50 years and survived by children Diane Doug West, Susan Edward Wiktor, John Rebecca Bender. Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and loving companion Ada Ayle.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel, with a luncheon to follow at the V.F.W. Post 10178, 550 N. McCall Road, Englewood.
