John J. Roman, Sr, 87, of Venice, FL passed away March 23, 2017. He was born August 3, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA and moved to this area in 1979 from there. In 1980, he became the owner of Roman Weatherproofing Inc here in Venice, retiring 17 years ago. He loved to play the piano and enjoyed working out. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son John (JoAnn Newman) Roman of Venice, FL; sisters, Virginia Doyle, Mary Roman and Joan Chest as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 2012.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm Wednesday March 29, 2017 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL. The Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00pm with burial and military honors at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
