Born on December 27, 1948, in Springfield, Missouri, Lane's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, loving nature, and adventurous spirit.
Lane was the beloved husband of Melinda for 43 years, a union blessed with love, laughter, and shared journeys. He was a devoted father to Michael (Kerri) Guth and Melanie (Kevin) Onofri, and a doting grandfather to Madelyn, Caleb, and Gabriel Onofri. His brother, Allen Diedrick, along with many nieces and nephews, will fondly remember Lane's guidance and warmth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edith, and his brother, Marvin.
After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, Lane honorably served his country as a Navy veteran before embarking on a distinguished career in banking. He began his professional journey at Port Charlotte Bank and Trust, eventually leading as President of Sun Trust Bank and Englewood Bank and Trust. His leadership extended beyond his professional roles as he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, and the United Way, leaving an indelible mark on the community he so dearly loved.
Lane's commitment to service was most evident in his involvement with the Father's House Fellowship church in North Port, FL. His dedication to his faith community was a cornerstone of his life, and he found great joy in serving and uplifting others. Serving the Lord through his church was his true passion.
In his spare time, Lane was a skilled carpenter, a craft that allowed him to create and share tangible expressions of his love and creativity. His adventurous soul was complemented by his love of travel, exploring the world's wonders alongside his best friend and wife, Melinda. Together, they created a tapestry of memories across continents, from the vibrant cultures of Spain and the Mediterranean to the natural beauty of Hawaii and Alaska, and the serene waters of their beloved cruises.
Lane's life was a reflection of his faith-filled heart, his loving nature, and his adventurous soul. He approached each day with a sense of purpose and joy, leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for Lane L Diedrick will be held at the Father's House Fellowship church, 5289 Atwater Dr. North Port, FL, on June 1st at 11 am. It will be a time to honor his memory and the profound impact he had on so many lives.
Lane's journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.
