
Larry E. VanOsdol, 71, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away July 30, 2011. He was born March 15, 1940 in Elwood, IN. He attended Purdue University, where he studied land surveying. He then worked for several companies until he opened his own Surveying business from which he retired in 2005. His home and work for many years was in the South Bend and Elkhart IN areas. He moved to Port Charlotte in late March of 2003 to escape the cold and snow of Indiana. He was an avid "Techie" and was the current President of the Charlotte County Computer Users Group. Larry loved everything about computers and other electronic devices. Since 1995, cruising became an addiction for Larry.
He was a beloved and devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed by his wife Julia VanOsdol and children, Angela Mannon, Jeff (Christina) VanOsdol, Eric (Shelly Lesher) VanOsdol, Adam VanOsdol, Kevin (Debra) Kuhl and Kimberly (Hank) Tatanish; twelve grandchildren, Charyce, Amanda, Cory (Lissi), Anthony, Jordan, Trevor, Dylan, Madison, Olivia, Cheyenne, Jack and Charlie; brothers, Jerry, Patrick and Kenneth VanOsdol and a sister, Jennie Tolle.
A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held at 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with a Memorial Service at 5:00 pm Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Heritage Lakes Park Community Center, Heritage Lake Dr. off Rampart Blvd, in Pt Charlotte with the Rev Bob Carlson officiating.
