Margaret, 81, passed to the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 19, 1941. She graduated from High School Of Commerce, Detroit, Michigan.
For a period of time, she owned and operated a TUFFY muffler shop. She was the only female to EVER own a TUFFY franchise. Her managerial expertise continued as principal owner and president of a retail business, formed by her and her new spouse, Thomas Merkle, which remained viable, to the day of her demise.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Gerard Daene, mother Elizabeth Rosenow and daughter, Catherine Springstead. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Merkle, her brother, Gerald Daene, her son, Michael Rudiger, step sons,Todd Merkle, Scott Merkle and Christopher Merkle, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Per her wishes, there will be no service. The family is taking the responsibility of scattering her ashes at buoy #2, in Charlotte Harbor, where her brother-in-law and mother-in-law, both of whom she loved dearly, were previously laid to rest.
