Mary S. Hendrick

Mary S. Hendrick, 95, Englewood, formerly of Sarasota, died March 22,

2008.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Lemon Bay Funeral Home,

Englewood Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael's

Catholic Church in Englewood. Burial will follow at Sarasota Memorial Park.

Mary was born in New York City, but lived most of her life in Florida

since the 1930s. She and her husband, Oscar Hendrick, who preceded her in

death, were very active in business in Clearwater, Bradenton and Sarasota,

ranging from shoe repairs, real estate properties, motels and a small boat

marina. Mary was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her

passing, Saturday, March 22, 2008, in Englewood, where she lived with her

daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Bob Wray.

She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Bob Wray of Englewood and Janet

Holman of Islamorada, Fla., and son in law, Carl Holman of Palm Harbor,

Fla.; her son, Ronald Eileen Hendrick of Sarasota; 9 grandchildren; 12

great-grandchildren; and her longtime caregiver and family friend, Carolina

Stewart; along with her ever-faithful companions "Buddy and Buster

Hendrick."
