Richard (Dick) George Dowling, 87, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on February 21, 2015. Richard was born in Grassy Point, NY on December 19, 1927 to Thomas & Anna Dowling. He moved to Florida in 1990.
Richard served his country honorably in the Navy and Army during WWII and the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion, Volunteer Ambulance Corp. He was an avid gunman and hunter. He also worked for International Union of Operational engineers as a chief construction engineer and was pivotal in building many bridges and tunnels.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Carol Dowling; daughters, Michele Dowling, Stephanie Lopez, Diane Price and Susan Houghtelling; son, Richard Dowling, Jr. and five grandchildren,
