
Thomas McCarthy (a.k.a. Wolf, Cajun) passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Tidewell hospice. Born in Fall River, Mass on March 30, 1948 to John and Beatrice (Lapointe) McCarthy he served the US Army in Vietnam completing 4 campaigns. After returning he eventually relocated to Louisiana where after driving trucks and working for the Pepsi Cola Co. he became an auctioneer. This was his calling and he owned an Auction House and 3 stores, working Flea markets and could literally sell anything to anyone.
At this time he developed his passion for wolves and wolf-dogs rescuing many. When he moved permanently to Port Charlotte in 2005 he brought his beloved wolf, Lobo, with him. It was in Port Charlotte he developed his other passion working with veterans specifically the Homeless. He and Lobo became ambassadors and advocates for all in need. His support of Veterans organizations was also well known.
Wolf will be greatly missed by his many friends and extended family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Sharon; stepchildren, Williard (Judy) Sullivan in Choudrant , La., Mark Hardy of Chicago, Michael (Dawn) Hardy of Lakeland, FL; step-grandchildren, Francis (Clay) Boyd, Terry D. (Samuel) Frazier, William (Ana) Sullivan, Jeffrey (Misty) Sullivan all from Louisiana, Lillian Hardy of Lakeland, FL; Step-grandchildren, Abagail and Deserae Frazier, and Phoenix and Lily Boyd of Louisiana; niece, Holly (Steve) Yager-Torres; nephew, John (Stephanie) McCarthy and great-niece and great-nephew, Mekaela and John A. McCarthy.
