Myron "Indiana Jones", of Englewood, Florida, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana
passed away on April 16, 2009 at Venice Regional Medical Center.
Myron was born October 5, 1924 to Joseph and Edyth Jones in Hammond,
Indiana.
Myron entered the U.S. Army in 1943 and while serving in W.W.II he received
the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.
He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Business Management.
He began a career with Standard Oil of Indiana and then worked for Firestone
Tire and Rubber Company. He and his late wife, Rosie, owned the Firestone Tire
and Rubber Store in Greenwood, Indiana. They sold their store and moved to
Englewood, Florida in 1987. "Indiana Jones" began a new career in real estate.
He worked for M & M Realty, Prudential and Investors Choice until December
2008.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Bill Long of Fishers, Indiana, a son, Gary
Lorrayne Jones of Corona, Californra, a grandson, John Lisa, a great grandson,
Chad of Fishers, Indiana and his brother, Jack of Gary, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00
p.m. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel. Burial will follow at Gulf
Pines Memorial Park of Englewood.
