Patricia "Pat" A. (Morris) Burton, a long time resident of Cecil County, has passed on to be with her late husband Jim on Sunday, December 28, 2025 in Port Charlotte FL where she had been residing for the last 24 years. Born on November 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. Morris and Marion I. Morris Vandemark.
After graduating North East High School, Pat moved to Baltimore, MD to establish a career as an executive secretary eventually moving out west as an army wife. She and Jim moved back to Cecil County where they raised three children in Charlestown Manor. While raising her children Pat spent time involved with local school activities and loved being active with her North East High class of 1962 alumni. She was also an avid collector of winter weather supplies and prided herself on being able to outfit her children, their friends and anyone else who came along with skates, sleds and all things winter wear and was always ready with a vat of homemade hot chocolate. She enjoyed being a veterinary tech at the Elk Neck Vet Clinic where she spent several years. One of Pat's greatest joys was fulfilling her lifelong dream of traveling across Europe and Central America seeing sights from the Eiffel Tower to the Mayan Ruins. She was an avid reader and spent her later years educating herself on, collecting and creating jewelry of stones and gems of all kinds.
She is survived by her three loving children Shawn M. Burton, James P. Burton (Kristine) and Kelly L. Haughey (Sean), seven grandchildren Rachel (Trey), Shawn II, Ashley, Megan, Ryan (Catherine), Alexis and Taylor, three great granddaughters Zeppelyn, Cheyenne and Rhya and brother and sister-in-laws Willam Burton and Bonnie Atkinson (William).
