Priscilla Lamirand Benson, age 79 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away June 20, 2020. She was born on July 24, 1940 in Marquette, MI to Hugh and Lucille (Frenette) Lamirand. Priscilla graduated Graveraet High School in Marquette, MI. She worked many years for AT&T in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania. Priscilla retired in 1994 and moved down to Port Charlotte, FL that year. Priscilla was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, the Moose, the Eagles, and the Elks. She loved to play BINGO and sing Karaoke. Those who knew her best would say she was always “lucky” and especially loved playing “Texas Hold Em” at the American Legion and “Show Me the Money” at the Moose- she never missed! One thing Priscilla loved most of all was being with her friends, always enjoying life, having fun and laughing.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Albin J. Benson in 2011; her stepson, Matthew Brannon; sister, Betty Larson; and brothers, Elwin Lamirand and Paul Lamirand. She is survived by her stepchildren, Jacquiline Maul, Joseph (Cyndi) Benson, Jill (Fred) Riddle, Jerry Benson, Brenda (Bobby) Price, and Jeffrey (Darlene) Brannon; her loving granddaughter Lani (Tim) Chitwood with “The Arkansas Girls” for Karaoke; her sisters, Joan (Octavius) DeRose, and Diana McClure; brother, John Lamirand; and many close friends that she considered her family.
