Ralph moved to Michigan as a teenager to obtain work and there he met Ruby Lee Henderson whom he married on September 17, 1944. Ralph and Ruby had two children, Donald Ralph Hayes and Janice Elaine Carrado. He loved to work in the garden, fish, watch baseball and sing Karaoke. He enjoyed his life and had a love for people.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Janice E. Carrado; three grandchildren, Tammy, Joslen and Christopher Pelkey; 3 great grandchildren, Tiffani, Kristal and Samantha and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Donald ; sisters, Edna Hayes and Geneva Price; four brothers, John, Richard, Gentry and Mack Hayes; two step-brothers, Willie and Ray Pitts and a grandson, Donald Ralph Pelkey.
