Raymond A. Evans, 91, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died February 22, 2012. He was born in Byesville, Ohio, lived many years in North Wales, Pennsylvania, then retired to Port Charlotte in 1979. He served in the US Navy in WWII. He was a Veteran of Foreign Wars. Raymond worked 29 years as an Engineer with Merck, Sharpe and Dohme in West Point, PA. He was a member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ and was a past Master of the Punta Gorda Lodge #115 F&AM. He was a member of the Fort Myers Scottish Rite, the Punta Gorda Scottish Rite, the Fort Myers York Rite, Araba Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. in Fort Myers and the Charlotte CountyShrine Club.Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Julia K. Evans. He is survived by his sons Stephen Snyder and Raymond Snyder, a sister Bonnie Ambrose, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by friend and companion Mary Bailey of Port Charlotte.
