Robert "Joshua" Dibble, 32, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011 in his Deep Creek home. His life was shortened by heart failure. Josh, born on October 24, 1978 in Ft Myers, FL was adopted by his mother and father, John and Joy Dibble when he was just three months old. Growing up in Punta Gorda, Josh loved animals, sports and the outdoor life. Joshua had a true love and appreciation for Charlotte Harbor where he enjoyed fishing and was a strong believer in catch and release. A huge passion in Joshua's life was Florida State sports. He loved the Seminoles as anyone who got to know Josh would soon come to learn. Joshua attended Charlotte County schools through the eighth grade and from there he attended Vanguard, in Lake Wales, FL. Josh played basketball for Vanguard and had the opportunity to make friends from around the world. Understanding how computers work came naturally for Josh. He turned his talent into a small business he named J. Dibble Computer Service. Josh was a kind, energetic person and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Joshua is survived by his father and mother, John and Joy Dibble as well as his aunts and uncles, Candy and David Charles of Sanford, FL and Mary Faith and Lonnie Whisman of Port Charlotte. Joshua has ten cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda. The family requests donations in memory of Josh be made to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County or to EARS.
