
Robert L. Lenardson, 77, of Venice, FL passed away July 14, 2016. He was born February 6, 1939 in Cranston, RI. He served for three years in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war. Before retiring, Robert was an Executive Chef. His long and distinguished career included service as the Food Service Director with Texas Instruments, working as a Chef-Steward on a passenger yacht as part of a crew of 18, as a Chef Instructor with the Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts School, Executive Chef for Fullerton College and Cal-Tech Pasadena as a supervisory chef with Servomation, both in New England and California, as Chef Manager for both Boston Gas and DAKA Corp, as Food Production Supervisor with Quality Healthcare in North Port, FL and Chef Manager with the Renaissance Manor in Sarasota. Robert was an avid model train enthusiast and loved to travel the world with his wife Diane. He had also enjoyed volunteering with the AARP during tax season.
He is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Diane Lenardson; sons, Peter and Scott Lenardson, both of Providence, RI; granddaughter, Marisa Lenardson of RI, sister, Joan Brown of Cranston, RI; step children, Antoinette Hansen, Edward Hansen, and Douglas Hansen; as well as five step grandchildren and one step great-grandaughter. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (Cooke) Lenardson in 1991 and a step son, Derrick Hansen four years ago.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
