Sophie Sanders, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away April 6, 2014, in Punta Gorda, FL.
She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and she and her family owned and operated the Downtown Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant for many years. She is survived by sons John (Sherry) of Columbus, OH, Jerry (Sheri) of Port Charlotte, FL, Larry of Charlotte, MI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Phil Sanders, parents Nick and Mary Bardaville, brother John Bardaville, and sister Lila Govatos. Arrangements by Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, FL, and interment was at the Sarasota Florida National Cemetery.
