Timothy was born on August 8, 1951 in Kearny, New Jersey. He moved with his family to Port Charlotte in 1966. Following his graduation from Charlotte High School in 1970, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and loyally served his country for four years. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Timothy owned and managed Palmetto Mobile Home Park for over 30 years. Timothy was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Gloria Finnegan; his mother, Martha Finnegan; his children, daughter Shannon and her husband Ryan, son Sean and his wife Lindsey, and son Bryan; his grandchildren Colleen, Charlie, Anthony, and Aiden; and his siblings, sister Mary and her husband Michael, brother Michael and his wife Doreen, sister Kathleen and her husband John, and brother Patrick. Timothy is also lovingly survived by his stepdaughter Michele, his stepson Todd and his wife Marrah, and his grandchildren, Kailey, Garret, Alexis, Jared, and Janelle. Timothy will be greatly missed by his large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends far and wide.
Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Finnegan, and his loving wife of 22 years, Colleen Finnegan.
Timothy will be remembered for his Irish wit, generosity, and devotion to his family and business. His grandchildren brought him such great joy in the most recent years of his life. His family will forever cherish the special memories made with Timothy during time spent in the Florida Keys and the mountains of Tennessee.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 1, 2012, at 1:30 pm at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Finnegan's Wake to follow.
