
Timothy Allen Perkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his Florida home on April 23, 2025 at the age of 70. Born on September 19, 1954, in Howell, Michigan, Tim was a cherished son of Claude and Margary Perkins.
In 1963 Tim's parents decided to relocate to Cedarville, where they, along with Margary's parents, would establish their roots on Perkins LN.
Tim graduated from Les Cheneaux Community Schools in 1973. After finishing his studies, Tim started a family and welcomed his first three children. During this time, Tim made the heartfelt decision to purchase his parents' cherished home, dedicating much time and affection to its upkeep, additions, and renovations.
In 1995 Tim met the love of his life, Holly Marie Wilson. They wed in 1997, in a heartwarming ceremony at their family home in Cedarville, Michigan. Together, they welcomed a daughter and would share 28 beautiful years together, filled with family, love, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever.
Tim retired from Carmeuse Lime and Stone in 2007, where his hard work and determination allowed him to rise to the position of Mill and Dock Area Manager. Post retirement he worked for Barr Construction and was a co-manager for Loons Point Campground. His colleagues knew him not only for his professionalism, but also for his unwavering integrity, honesty, and dedication. Tim was a man of strong character, embodying values of leadership, and kindness that inspired many.
Tim was a proud father to his four children: Sarah (Robert “Scott”) Barr, Benjamin (Rebecca and Keith Boggs) Perkins, Jeremy (Katy) Perkins, and Taylor (Jerrod) Dillon. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Alexis (Ryan Santiago) Barr, Mackenzie (Devyn Leslie) Barr, Cassidy (Landon) Gough, Landon Barr, Caleb Perkins, Destinee Perkins, Brianna (Diego Rueda) Perkins, Tori Boggs, Emilee Boggs, Aleesia Perkins, Alison Perkins, Emily Perkins, Lucas Pauly, and Jexton Dillon. Tim also took great joy in being a Great-Grandfather, welcoming Brecken Santiago, Callie Gough, and Nina Rueda into the world and showering them with love.
During his younger years, Tim found joy in hunting, fishing, and a range of sports, showcasing his competitive nature and his talent for motivating those around him. As he grew older, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, cousins, children, nephews, and even grandchildren. In later years of life, Tim remained committed to sharing his stories and adventures, imparting lessons of perseverance and dedication to his children and grandchildren.
Tim's life was enriched by his deep family and friend connections, especially with his cousin and lifelong best friend, Edward “Ned” Canfield. Together, they shared countless memories that will be treasured by their families for generations.
Tim was a true embodiment of faith, consistently demonstrating his beliefs through honesty, compassion, and kindness that he extended to everyone around him. His legacy will forever be remembered by those blessed to call him family and friend.
Tim is survived by his Wife Holly Marie Perkins, 4 Children, 14 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, Brother Norman (Marcia) Perkins, Brother Lawerence (Candace) Perkins, Sister Claudia (Wayne) Brood, and Sister Dawn (Fred) Melton.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Margary Perkins, Grandfather Howard and Grandmother Hazel Canfield, Uncle Harold and Aunt Jean Canfield, and cousin Suzzane Canfield.
In this time of sorrow, we will remember Tim not only for the love he gave but also for the profound impact on the lives surrounding him. He will be deeply missed and forever etched in our hearts.
A celebration of Tim's life will take place on May 31, 2025, at the First Union Church in Cedarville, MI. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with services at 1:00 and a luncheon to follow. Please join us to honor and remember a truly remarkable man.
