
Venice, Florida. He was the son of Kenneth and Dorotha Miller born on
October 23, l936 in South Bend, In. His grandparents were Leslie and
Lena Amick of Pence and great uncle and aunt were Ura and Bertha
Seeger of West Lebanon. They all preceeded him in death.
He was of the last class to attend Pence Grade School. After
graduating from Williamsport High School he attended Indiana Business
College in Indianapolis and Hanover College in Madison, In. Later he
attended a Photography School in Winona, In.
On October 20, l956, Ura married Sandra Pyle, who survives. He
served in the Army from l956 to l958, taking basic training at Ft.
Leonard Wood, Mo., was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. in the 101st
Airborn Division training for parachute jumping and working in the
Provost Marshall`s Dept. He later joined the National Guard in Boswell,
In. in l958. His nephew, Timothy E. Miller, who preceded in death, followed in his footsteps into
the 101st Airborn at Ft. Campbell and he was very proud of that.
There were 6 children born to this union, Ura Gregory, Dennis K.,
Randal J., and Angela Diane (Gerry) Hunek of Venice, Fl. Rodric Kevin
(Julie) of Lafayette, Leslie Kay (Dan) Schumacher of West Lafayette,
In.
He had 9 grandchildren--Shannon (Shawn) Daniels, Gerry, Alexis, and
Ashley Hunek of Venice. Joshua Miller of Lafayette, and Leah, Nick,
Brendan, and Alayna Schumacher of West Lafayette.
He owned a photography studio, loved flying his airplane and built an
experimental flying-wing and built 2 homes for his family. He enjoyed
visiting with friends, family and watching Purdue sports with his
sons.
He was a member of Jordan Chapel in Pence, previously known as Pence Methodist Church, where he attended with his
family, his parents and siblings, Karen Dian Miller of Fishers, Bertie
Jane Buchanan of West Lafayette, and Kenneth Miller II of Venice, all of whom survive.
