He was a resident of North Port, Florida for many years. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and joined the U.S. Navy at 17, serving aboard the destroyer USS Hyman (DD 732) with the 6th Fleet. In his retirement, he worked as a reserve with the Charlote County Sheriff's Office.
He was goodhearted, generous and kind to everyone, often assisting strangers in distress. He loved fishing, boating and just being outdoors.
He is predeceased by his wife Lucy, his brother Buddy, and sisters Helen, Mary and Anna.
He is survived by his daughters, MaryLu Barrow and husband David, Corinna Edlin and husband David, Lisa Toscano and his sister, Silvia Cianchatti, and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He will be sorely missed.
