Rod was deeply devoted to his family and friends and was happiest in the company of those he loved. He was a dedicated teacher in School District 43 for many years, teaching students at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels. Beyond the classroom, Rod was an active member of Como Lake United Church for over fifty years and made a lasting contribution to the Tri-Cities community through his work with the Riverview Horticultural Centre Society on Serenity Gardens in Port Coquitlam.
Rod will be fondly remembered for his passion for gardening, traveling, and the outdoors; his love of singing and dogs; and his enjoyment of a good cup of hot chocolate. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. May he rest in the eternal peace and grace of the Lord, reunited with his loved ones who went before him.
A celebration of life will be held at Como Lake United Church on Saturday, September 12th at 11:00am, with a reception and refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian non-profit organization, CLEAR Alzheimers.
