

In Hay Lakes, Alberta. He left the farm in Alberta Beach at a young age and moved to B.C where he began his career in the forest industry. Starting from the ground up, he worked in various mills around B.C. and retired from Canfor as a manager in charge of fibre supply after 38 years of working in the industry.
He met and married Ann and together they raised four children. They had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and were just a few days away from 71 when Ann passed away. They had many adventures and touched the lives of numerous people along the way.
Bernie always had a joke or story to tell. His sense of humour will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Bernie was predeceased by his loving wife Ann and their son Brian. He has left behind three daughters Lynda, Karen, and Janet, his grandchildren Cheryl, Paul, Lisa, Alexandra, Matthew, Chrystal, Jesse, and Keith, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families
There will be no funeral service or memorial by his request. The family will have a private gathering to place Bernie's and Ann's ashes together in a memorial wall in the Okanagan. The inscription that will be on the stone will read:
