

Gayle was born in Beauharnois , Quebec on September 4th 1940. She spent her childhood in Edmonton, Alberta where her love for animals started. Throughout her life she had five dogs ,five cats, rabbits and any other creatures that happened to visit her yard. She also extended that love and caring to family and the people she met throughout her life.
She moved to the west coast in '61 and her adventuress side kicked in and she started working in Sandspit, Haida Gwaii BC in the dining room. She learned to drive there and bought her first car which ironically came with a dog. Then she went to work in Ocean Falls, BC, a company town you had to fly or boat into. She had a great time there as they had clubs for everything and Gayle joined most. Then she was off to Fraser Acres restaurant on the Hwy just past Boston Bar BC . They had cabins in the back where all employees would stay . It was a busy place; Gayle would come home with wonderful and funny stories of her time there.
Vancouver was always her homebase. She came home on vacation one time; they were shorthanded at Windsor Machines where her Mom was working, she was going to fill in for two weeks and ended up staying for 20 years. Gayle married Glen in '71 . They loved camping and fishing with family, friends and especially taking her nephews, nieces and grandkids . They belonged to the Eagles club and spent many hours volunteering and attending and special events. Gayle lived in the house on Glen drive for 40 plus years . Her home was always open and many many dinners were made and enjoyed by family and friends over the years. She spent her last years in Maple Ridge playing crib and going on road trips with her cousins . She was a fabulous cook and hostess warm heart great sense of humor. She passed away on November 9th 2025.
She will be forever missed by all that knew her.
