It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Gloria May Thomson (Grandma GG), on August 6, 2019 at the age of 92, with her family at her side. Gloria will always be remembered for her caring, compassionate, kind-hearted spirit. Predeceased by her husband, Bruce in 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara, son-in-law Vernal, her beloved three grandchildren, Ian, Joy, Mark, 6 great-grandchildren Tiana, Joshua, Noah, Elijah, Melanie, Santiago, her brothers Leopold, Keith, sisters Norma, Linnette, along with the many nieces, nephews, Godson Brent and many friends around the world. Gloria was born in Kingston, Jamaica, studied psychiatric and general nursing in London, England. She enjoyed a long career operating several residential care nursing homes for the mentally ill, geriatric, and developmentally delayed communities. Gloria never took things for granted and always gave a helping hand to those in need. Her heart was enormously full of love for her family and friends. Gone but not forgotten, a celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at First Memorial Funeral Services Burkview Chapel at 1340 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam, with a reception to follow. Opportunity to pay your respects on Friday, August 30th, 6:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation and Saint John’s Anglican Church, Port Moody.
