Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jim McInally died peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Coquitlam, B.C. Born on July 23, 1936, in Glasgow, Scotland. Jim immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his bride, Carol.
Jim is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carol, and his three children Sharon (Terry), Lynne, Jimmy (Theresa), four grandchildren, Keegan (Tanya), Dylan, Olivia, and Isabella, and one great-grandson, Liam.
Jim immigrated to Canada expecting to continue his trade as a Cooper, but there were no whiskey distillers in Edmonton. After moving to Calgary, Jim became a plumber/pipefitter/gasfitter and, as a lifelong learner, Jim eventually returned to SAIT to earn certificates in process piping drafting. Jim retired as a Senior Pipe Designer at Nova Corporation.
Jim and Carol retired to White Rock in 2000 to be with their children and grandchildren, who had all migrated to the West Coast. Eventually, Jim and Carol moved to Coquitlam in 2022 to be near their daughters due to health reasons.
Jim’s life was about family—his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a source of wisdom, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
We will forever cherish the memories of his gentle smile, twinkly eyes, crazy eyebrows, and many moments of laughter we shared. His presence brought warmth to every room, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
Rest in peace. You will always be remembered, always loved, and deeply missed.
The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, October 18th at 1:00 pm, at Burkeview Memorial Service, 1340 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jim’s name to a charity of your choice.
