May 19, 1957 to January 9, 2026
Jan was born on May 19, 1957, in Poland. He built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family. For more than 25 years, Jan worked in construction, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and pride in providing for those he loved. He often spoke of his workplace as a family, where strong bonds and lasting friendships were formed.
Jan was a devoted husband to his wife Danuta, with whom he shared over 20 years together. He was a loving father to his son Jakub (Kathy) and a cherished stepfather to Monica (David). He was a proud grandfather to Adam, Zoey, Aiden, and Dalibor, each of whom brought him immense joy. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister Halina (Tonis), nephew Lukasz, and niece Emilia (Shawn). Through every role he stood so strong—husband, father, stepdad, grandfather, brother, and uncle. In who he was, and in all he did, his love rang true.
Jan will always be remembered for his love of fishing—something everyone knew was his favorite pastime. Whether spending time near the water or sharing stories afterward, fishing was where he found peace and happiness. His quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering dedication to family will be deeply missed.
Jan was predeceased by his parents, Irena and Boleslaw; his sister Maryla; and his brother-in-law Zbyszek.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Burkeview Memorial Services, 1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3B 8G7. A reception to follow at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Jan’s memory.
Strongest in heart and kind in way, he gave his all, day after day. Though gone from sight, not gone from soul, his love remains forever whole.
