Born with a disability, Janet strove to never let her limitations hold her back. She was always a champion for the less fortunate.
Janet was a caregiver at heart, pioneering many programs with The Downtown Community Health Society, including an Outreach Program for the disabled, elderly and homeless residents of the downtown Eastside. After retiring due to health concerns she went on to become a foster parent for 20 years touching many lives.
Lovingly remembered by her husband Frank Sansalone; children, Amber Jardine (Craig Jardine), Stephanie Burns Staiano (Ivo Staiano), Domenico Sansalone and Santino Sansalone. Grandchildren Matthew MacDonald, Elijah Jardine, Hannah and Jack Burns as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son Jay Sansalone and her parents Connie and John Pettersen.
A Celebration of Life will be held with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. www.erhf.ca
