Jayne (Jay) Payne

(nee Patrick)

July 14, 1955 – October 19, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected loss of Jay, who passed peacefully

in her sleep at age 65. She was predeceased by her mom Betty 2019, dad Bill 2003, motherin-

law Bev 2019, father-in -law Ernie 2012, Grandparents Evelyn 1992 and Samuel 1979.

She was a dedicated wife to Lloyd of 38 years, and loving mother to Chris, Doug and Brad.

She leaves behind her sister Linda (Ron), uncle Allen, sister-in-law Lori (Gary), brother in

law Darryl (Angie) as well as family in Vancouver, Toronto and Nova Scotia. Jay will be

lovingly and dearly missed by her lifelong friend Carol.

Jay will be remembered as a lover of all things Celtic, nature, frogs, cats, and birds. She kept

herself busy with crafts, from needlepoint to knitting and jewelry making and loved sharing

her wares at local craft shows. Jay was an active and loved member of the Port Coquitlam

Community Legion Pipe Band. She was an accomplished Tenor Drummer. She also served

as Director and Secretary of the Pipe Band Society. She and Lloyd loved their time spent

with the band. In the last few years of her life her passion changed to photography. She

and Lloyd enjoyed time together taking pictures around the Lower Mainland, Jay with her

camera and Lloyd carrying the equipment. She loved travelling especially to Cuba and

visiting her family and friends all across the country.

Though Jay endured a life of health challenges, she persevered with positivity,

determination, along with Lloyd’s humour. Jay enjoyed every minute of her life with her

best friend of 40 years, Lloyd. The adoring love they had for one another and the neverending

laughter they shared, with be remembered by all who knew her. Jay’s boys were her

world. Jay and Chris (also a bird lover) loved to battle it out in video games. Doug loved to

bake family recipes with his mom, from a few dozen cookies to heaps of Christmas baking.

Brad, with his big heart and passion to match was his mother’s keeper and she, his

con^idant. She will be missed more than we can express, a beloved life gone far too soon.

The family will invite friends to celebration of life at a later date. Donations may be made to

the charity of your choice.
