I only heard today of Jeanne's death.  Rita and I had many very happy memories of Jeanne and Cec, camping, golfing, and hanging out together, and with other friends.  We were sorry when she left Kelowna.  She was a cheerful person with a ready smile and sunny outlook, though with a serious approach to her work, and to the big issues in life.  I am very sorry to hear that she is gone.  Perhaps she and Rita are golfing together again.

Jeanne was Ron's trusted Girl Friday for a decade. He often thought of the way she would crinkle her nose every time he asked her to do a task that she knew was going to land him in trouble.  She was a hard worker who loved her family dearly. Jeanne and Cec were a dynamic duo who filled a room with their energy and enthusiasm.  We don't doubt that each family member has endless warm and wonderful memories of Jeanne to provide comfort for your loss.  Our thoughts are with you all.

I am so sorry to hear about you Mother ,It's hard to express my feelings that I know you are going through, May God Bless you , Keep you and Look after you all through this trying time. I knew your Mom and Dad for years as we all sang in the Church Choir and every time I open my Choir Book I think of Jean. I used to call her "Jeannie with the light Brown Hair" as she used to Put the Names on our Choir Books - May God Bless You - Smiley Nelson

We remember you, dear Jeanne. 

From Alberta foothills, tiny mountain towns, and Kelowna to BC's Lower Mainland, you lived a full life, blessed with loving family, good health, joie de vivre, and great friends. You played the piano. You loved to sing, and to travel, and you and friends in the Kelowna International Choir shared the joy of song with the wide world. You were a terrific secretary and splendidly organized. Many of us got that Jeanne gene. You were an enthusiastic golfer  more friends! You loved your gardens  oh, all those flowers!  and now we do too. You loved to dance (shared that gene too). You enjoyed good food. More friends! You party girl. You were full of grace. Always considerate. You showed us how a human should behave. And we miss you enormously.

Jeanne was the heart and soul of the best elementary school staff I ever worked with, Rutland Elementary, from 1977-1984.   As principal, I relied on her so much to take care of the organizational stuff, so I could focus on the educational programs.  She and Cec were an important part of a staff that worked hard, played hard, and enjoyed a huge level of camaraderie.  As the first person to meet people coming into our school's office, she created a warm, friendly, inviting atmosphere that set a great tone in a great school.  So sad to hear of her passing....she will be missed.

My name is Kathy Lauwers and I still lead the choir at Parkwood Manor.  Your Mom was part of the Parkwood Singers for a few years and she always said how much she loved to sing with the group.  I have a card that she gave me in March 2008 that talks about when she left Kelowna to move to Coquitlam to be closer to her daughters.  She used to tell me about singing with a choir that performed in England and Europe.  I enjoyed talking with her about music and she was always so quiet and serious about her singing. I saw her obituary in the Van. Sun today and It brought back memories of Jeanne.  I'm sure you will miss her greatly and I just wanted the family to know that she was important to me and our choir.
