It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband and father, Kwame Ayesu-Attah, who left this world peacefully on June 5, 2026, at 1:05 p.m. after a valiant and hard-fought battle with illness.
Born in Guaman, Ghana, on July 28, 1955, Kwame faced unimaginable loss early in life. He lost his beloved mother, Angelina Obeng, when he was just six years old, and his father, Seth Ayesu, when he was sixteen. Raised through the dedication and love of his uncles and aunties, he developed a deep resilience that would define his character.
His pursuit of education began at a technical college in Ghana, before he journeyed across the ocean to the United Kingdom to complete further professional certificates. This training launched a remarkable career as a marine engineer. Working for multiple shipping companies, he traveled the seas, exploring the world and gathering a lifetime of experiences before finally laying down roots.
A defining chapter of his life began when he met Comfort at an early age. What started as a close friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance as he eventually won her heart, and the two were married on March 17, 1990. He embraced family life with open arms, proudly stepping into the role of a steadfast provider and raising his three children, Nana, Ben and Esinam.
The family built their early life together in Montreal. When Benjamin was three years old, an exciting professional opportunity inspired a cross-country move to British Columbia. This marked the beginning of an enduring career with BC Ferries, where Kwame served as a dedicated, hardworking marine engineer for over 30 years.
He will be remembered for his incredible perseverance, his quiet courage, his unwavering commitment to providing for his family and as an individual whose profound love for Jesus served as the guiding light in his life. He fought his final illness with the exact same determination that defined his journey across continents, ultimately finding peace surrounded by love.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Comfort, his three beloved children—Nana, Benjamin, and Esinam—and a legacy of resilience and adventure that will live on in them forever.
Honouring & Celebrating His Life: Saturday, July 11th 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Executive Suites Metro Vancouver, 4201 Lougheed Highway, Burnaby, BC, V5C 3Y6
