Lois was born in Medicine Hat Alberta on June 6, 1931. She was the oldest of eight, three brothers, Robert, Claude and Donald, and four sisters; Elaine who lives in Milton, Karen in Calgary, Mavis in Diamond Valley, and sister Leita.
Lois graduated as a Registered Nurse from Calgary General in 1953. She married Ken Krasman on June 13,1953, and had four children: Maureen, Rodney, Daniel, and Darryl. Lois was close to her family, Ken’s brother and wife, Doug and Heidi Krasman, and 15 nieces and nephews.
She lived in Calgary until 1969, when the family was transferred to Ontario with Imperial Oil, and moved back out west in 1974 to North Vancouver. She worked both in Scarborough and Vancouver as an RN in various assisted living facilities, using her nursing skills and compassionate heart caring for the residents.
When Ken retired, they built a house in White Rock where they spent many happy years and travelled until Ken’s health forced them to sell. She moved into a condo in Port Coquitlam to be close to Ken, who needed full time care. All during this time Lois discovered her passion and talent for miniatures, and along with her friend, Terry, travelled to conventions and sales exhibitions.
Lois lived a long and happy life, filled with friends and family. She will be missed greatly by her children, her grandchildren David, Erin, Ryan, Scott, Emily, and Eric. Also by her great-grandchildren Danielle, Orla, Bryn, Charlie, Taylor, and Quinn.
Celebration of Life will be on May 2, at 2:00 pm at Burkeview Memorial Services 1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated.
