He was born on March 6, 1942, in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Lyle was the firstborn of Edgar Foulds and Esther Anderson. He spent his early years on the family farm in Saskatchewan before moving with his family to British Columbia, where they made B.C. their home. As a young man, Lyle cared for his siblings as best he could. Lyle lived in New Westminster where he met his next-door neighbour, Anne Jung, when they were 12 and 15 years old. Lyle spent 3 years in the Navy before returning home to pursue his love, Anne.
Lyle and Anne married in 1963 and went on to have 2 daughters, Leanne(widowed) and Lori (Terry). In time, they were blessed with 4 grandchildren: Erin, Emma, Kate and Nathan. Lyle was a proud dad and grandpa.
Lyle pursued a career in Real Estate for many years before volunteering to care for each grandkid as they came along.
Lyle’s hobbies included playing hockey and golf. He especially loved golfing with family and friends. When he wasn’t golfing, he was writing notes on how to be a better player and demonstrating the “correct swing”. Two of his golfing highlights were organizing the Foulds family golf tournaments and playing at Pebble Beach with his dear friend Nick.
Lyle spent many hours reading his Bible and placed all of his faith in God.
Lyle will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Anne, of 62 years; his daughters, Leanne and Lori (Terry); and his grandchildren, Erin, Emma (Ti), Kate, and Nathan.
Lyle was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Esther; his stepmother, Lois; his sister, Noreen; his half-sister, Diane; his stepsister, Lorraine; and his son-in-law, Greg.
Lyle embraced all of his family – his remaining sister, Karen; his brother, Butch; his half-sisters Pam and Michelle; and his stepsiblings, Linda, Ruth, and Wayne. Lyle was very close to his cousins, who loved and treated him like a brother.
Forever loved, always remembered, and deeply missed.
